NONPROFIT STRIVING TO KEEP KIDS OUT OF FOSTER CARE AND WITH THEIR FAMILIES CELEBRATES ONE YEAR
St. Paul, Minn. – It’s hard to imagine that in Minnesota, a concerned teacher, medical professional or adult calls every nine seconds to report the abuse and neglect of children. One Minnesota nonprofit is working to change that. Together for Good will celebrate its one-year anniversary on Thursday, June 14.
How We Work Together for Good
Crisis Hosting
Supported by their local church, host families welcome children into their homes temporarily when parents are in crisis. This gives parents in distress the time and space they need to heal and regain stability for their family, all while knowing their children have safe harbor.
Respite Care
Periodic pre-planned care of children of chronically stressed and overwhelmed parents. This gives us the opportunity to alleviate stress and build lasting relationships with families.
Relational Ministry
Together for Good offers ongoing opportunities to build relationships with isolated mothers to ensure they feel supported, encouraged and loved. We also offer practical help such as transportation, meals and connection to resources.
The mission of Together for Good is to come alongside vulnerable children and families in their time of need. This happens through crisis hosting, respite care and relational ministry.
A Year of Milestones
In the year since it started, Together for Good has successfully kept 131 kids safe and out of the Minnesota foster care system.
In addition to providing a safe refuge for children, Together for Good focuses on building relationships with mothers and families to provide much-needed emotional and social support. The impact of Together for Good’s services is in the numbers.
