About our speaker: Robert O’Connor is Associate Professor of Social Work and Director of the Multicultural Title IV-E Child Welfare Program at Metropolitan State University in St. Paul. A popular speaker and trainer, Robert brings over thirty years of working with children and families at risk. Having been a child in the foster care system, he moved from state ward to state ward administrator, from special education student to college professor. He challenges participants to examine their cultural practice paradigms and move from cultural isolation to practice innovation.

Do you want to learn how to help move individuals from poverty to healthy sustainable living?
This all day workshop will help attendees recognize the four causes of generational poverty, understand the hidden rules that create barriers for those in poverty and identify critical resource gaps that need to be addressed in order to help individuals and communities thrive.
